I’m incredibly proud of our students from Cheju Halla University who participated in the IJCAI International Joint Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Organization 2024 Sustainable Transition with AI (STAI) Workshop! 🎉👏

The workshop, co-organized by our university along with KAIST and supported by the Jeju Regional Innovation Platform, was a resounding success. It brought together researchers, practitioners, and experts from around the world to discuss the future of AI-driven sustainable solutions.

I’m particularly thrilled to highlight the poster presentation by our students, Pilseong Yang and Kyu Bum Lee, under my guidance. Their research, titled “Enhancing Promotional Review Detection in Naver Restaurant Reviews: Integrating Large Language Models with Location-Based Data in Jeju,” garnered attention from the attendees. This work demonstrates how our department is focusing on developing practical AI solutions that consider local characteristics.

This presentation is a testament to the innovative spirit and hard work of our students, as well as our department’s commitment to creating AI applications that address real-world challenges in our local context.

Congratulations to Pilseong and Kyu Bum Lee for their outstanding work! Your contribution not only represents our university well but also pushes forward the field of AI for sustainability. I’m excited to see how you’ll continue to grow and innovate in your future endeavors.
