TIU AI Education Center Development

Establishment of an advanced AI education center in Uzbekistan as a joint project between Cheju Halla University and TIU

Overview

In April 2025, Cheju Halla University and Tashkent International University (TIU) launched an AI Education Center in Uzbekistan — one of the first dedicated AI training facilities in Central Asia. Funded by KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency), the center aims to train the next generation of AI professionals in the region through a structured 16-week curriculum integrated with Microsoft Azure certification pathways.

Program Design

Each cohort enrolls approximately 20 IT-focused students, with a target of training over 75 students across the project’s duration (through 2026). The curriculum progresses from AI fundamentals through deep learning, NLP, and computer vision, with hands-on projects using real-world datasets. English language support is provided to ensure students can access global AI resources and communities.

The center features high-performance computing labs, a comprehensive learning management system, and integration of AI development tools including Microsoft Copilot.

Why Uzbekistan

Central Asia represents a rapidly growing but underserved market for AI talent. Uzbekistan in particular has invested heavily in digital transformation, and there is strong demand for locally trained AI professionals who understand both the technology and regional context. The center positions TIU as a hub for AI education in the region.

Current Status

The center held its opening ceremony in 2025 and the first student cohort has begun training. The project continues to expand its curriculum and partnerships.
